January 15, 2013 - Maybe (already!!) too late to be drunk but the wine was not good the first day and absolutely undrinkable and awful after one day despite the vacuum. Kind of bitter and acid. It was probably spoiled by a bacteria. But even the bottles drunken before where ok but not a 88 worth, maybe a 72.

But the winemaker produces other great wines !

August 6, 2010 - Lean blackberry with healthy acidity manifesting in the form of slightly unripe mulberry tartness; Loire herbaciousness; lovely chalky tannins. Solid example of the comparatively quiet elegance of Loire Cab Franc. What an intriguing wine region, expressed wonderfully by a producer who is clearly in sync with the material matrix of his craft and its possibilities.

March 1, 2010 - pop and pour. both fruit and funk on the nose. wet leaf pile, red rope licorice, cherry and an intriguing smoky mint note. very bright attack on the palate, delivers a sleek vegatal and herbal experience seasoned with white pepper. a very savory wine. the rest is waiting patiently in a decanter. stay tuned.

February 21, 2010 - Such a good bottle. Quite possibly the perfect, un-oaked, savoury red that is broadly available. Light, vegetal and clean herb nose which leads to glossed black raspberry and cherry like fruit in the mouth, and light mineral driven depth. Delicately medium bodied with acids showing wonderful high noted balance on a 10-15 second finish.

August 21, 2009 - John David Selections (Conference room): Drying. Maybe I'm biased, but I don't see how these wines really compare to many other Cab Francs I've had from the Loire. These seem too pent up.
