February 13, 2017 - Probably waited too long on this one. Really nice bright red fruit and lots of spicy oak character but the alcohol (15.4%) is rearing its head just a bit these days.

April 3, 2016 - Came off with some bitterness in the middle and overall not a great experience. Dumped it.

July 11, 2015 - Has been moved to "Drink Now" location in cellar. Fruit is fading, colour is pale orange. Finish is quite short and thin. LO

January 4, 2014 - EARTHINESS, CHERRIES, AND CLOVES IN THE NOSE WITH CHERRIES AND RASPBERRIES IN THE FLAVOR. NICE LEGS AND A MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.

January 4, 2014 - To quote one of my party goes - it was one of the best examples of single vineyard pinots he had in a long time.

(Brewer Clifton Rio Vista Pinot Noir) #1; COLOR-lighter; NOSE-I'm excited, a little terroir/sheep butt surrounded by a smoked ham; a very obvious venison/vegetable component; very interesting; very Burgundian; red peppers; TASTE-some alcohol on the mid-palate, but it's so overdone by the explosive fruit; really interesting tobacco component on the back-end mixed with red berries (cassis; strawberries & hint of raspberries); this kind of true terroir-driven Santa Rita Hills Pinot would pare perfectly w/ duck; this is REALLY good; tremendous bright red fruit; interesting tobacco, venison, earthy, gaminess; this wine is bouncing all over my palate; I'm STILL tasting this wine on the long 1 minute plus finish; drinks now, but will easily cellar for 3-5 years (should open up more); underneath the tannins, I getting a floral component (rose petal & lilac); this is FINE complexity; so elegant; GV-92+
