April 2, 2024 - A big Zinfandel....best with grilled beef or lamb. Well done.
March 16, 2024 - Opened up tart but blew away after half hour. Black cherries too over. I this one needs a chance to age. Will try again in 2-3 years.
February 25, 2024 - Nita sejal
February 2, 2024 - Always a treat, with black currants, black fruits, and a solid structure. Great QPR from Bedrock.
January 21, 2024 - I love this wine. Drank with pepper-crusted tuna and callaloo oone night, grilled salmon with dill-mayo sauce, purple potatoes and spinach another. Compliments all those flavors
January 10, 2024 - Nose 92, palate 90.
V - Clear medium ruby, barely medium meniscus, high viscosity.
N - Rasp, cherry, black currant and blackberry. Green herbs, tobacco and baking spices.
P - Brighter than nose primarily red fruit and baking spices.
S - Med+ body, Med acidity, 14+, fine medium tannins.
Always a fun wine to drink.
October 27, 2023 - Ripe and fruit-forward, akin to a basic Lodi Zin. 14.4% ABV.
September 29, 2023 - Nice nose, nice cantelope vibes, currant, pepper. A touch hot. Palate is peppery on the back end, comes in hot after a more ethereal entry. Some dusty textural notes. Fruit has receded. A good wine but seems to be deciding which way to go. Nice acid and hefty tannins but almost no structure. Could see benefit from a few more years.
September 4, 2023 - Decanted for a couple hours before tasting. It’s tasty with a lot of dark fruit but still pretty big and burly. Curious what a few more years could bring. Excellent pairing with blue cheese.
July 28, 2023 - This feels open and ready for business. Nose bramble, blackberry, and rosehip. Clearly a fruit forward zinfandel, but not over the top. Medium + tannin, medium + acid on the palate. Honestly much more foreboding than the nose would suggest. This would benefit from a few more years or a steak--or maybe just a hearty decant. Delicious now though.
