April 19, 2024 - Brief, unscientific note: bright as a new penny, electric koolaid citrus character, vibrant herbal character. Good length. Wish I had more. Spring ragout (morels, asparagus, peas, mint, favas, perorino, shallots) over polenta. Very good.

April 8, 2024 - Really enjoyable wine. Nose of citrus, apple and something like ripe cheese, like the rind of a Brie. Palate of lemon, green apple and a hint of apricot. Lovely oily, waxy mouthfeel, with a little effervescence at the end that is just perfect. Was great with a Caesar salad.

October 1, 2023 - Delicious white. Waxy minerality. Honey, citrus and green apple. Oily luscious and complex on the palate. Long finish.

September 19, 2023 - So I just had glasses of the 2022 ColleStefano Verdicchio and the 2021 Lunae Bosoni Vermentino Etichetta Nera, and that is making for a tough comparison right now with this wine. This may actually have the nicest nose, but surprisingly, or maybe just comparatively, it seems to be lacking in acidity on the palate. It is the oldest wine of the trio, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

Likable, but today this might finish 3rd in the race.

July 12, 2023 - Had a glass while using most of this for cooking some Polpette con Pecorino e Limone. Consistent with my previous note. Lightly textured, bright pear, lemon and apple and a mineral edge. Nice wine.

June 25, 2023 - A very nice first experience of Montenidoli Fiore, after having tried the Carato in Chianti in May. Combined a creamy texture from the Leeds with a good freshness, salt and minerality, some lemon and pear as well as passion fruit and mango. A very food friendly wine. Will buy again.

June 24, 2023 - Opened one of these for my daughter who doesn't really drink red wine--this is a heartier white that can go with dishes that normally want reds. She is parsimonious in her consumption, so it was open under VacuVin in the fridge for a couple weeks before I poured the last in a glass and shared it with my wife. This was still great. Weight, intensity. Flowers, apple and citrus flavors.

December 1, 2022 - I probably should have kept my hands off it--this is a white that can age, or a white wine that acts like red wine, as Elisabetta said at the estate. This is just gorgeous, and compared to a similar white Burgundy for elegance and complexity, it's just a stunning bargain. Floral, but somehow the gardenias aren't overwhelming, and then there's body without thickness, just depth on depth. You could have this with salumi--we did at the estate--cheeses, richer fish, veal, it's just that full of character. I need to buy more.

October 3, 2022 - Both fresh enough for a summer party and complex enough for a proper dinner. Interesting and delicious.

August 18, 2022 - Perfect Summer white - crisp, with minerality on the nose, focused on the palate with good acidity. And this feels like a wine that might benefit from some additional time in the bottle - unfortunately, mine never last long enough to find out!
