    December 29, 2018 - Tasted blind with ~ 30 minutes of decanting. This is a massive wine that is clearly new world based on the concentration of black & blue fruits. However, the strong aromas of iodine, blue pen ink, and blood can sometimes put me squarely in Hermitage. Therefore, what is nice about this wine (with a very strange name & label) is that it combines what I love about the new world with old world Syrah. An intellectual tasting experience. Almost a full meal in a glass by itself.

    December 30, 2017 - Notes from day 2.
    Strong nose of funk, black berries, olives, seared bacon.
    Palate showed black berries, funk, seared meat, olives, pepper, chocolate.
    The finish was long in length and great mouth feel.
    An extraordinary wine all way around.

    October 16, 2017 - Rich, intense with trademark funk, lots of bacon, herb, licorice and meaty notes. Had 5 hours to decant and was still opening

    July 29, 2017 - Big Meat and Serious Syrah on a gorgeous summer afternoon (Westport, CT): Oh yeah - that funky, stinky in a good way characteristic Cayuse nose on this. This is powerful stuff, both aromatically and on the palate with spicy ripe blackberries and raspberries, earth and a barnyard funk. Just the thing to wake the palate up after a long wine tasting. Loved it!
