Community Tasting Notes 5

April 16, 2024 - Opulent and concentrated, with layered & rich orchard fruit balanced with bright acidity. Still a baby and coiled up a bit at first, a short decant helped for sure. I really enjoyed this wine, but it didn’t exactly wow me at its current stage of development. Lots of potential here though.

December 23, 2023 - Fat and rich with amazing depth. Broad in the mouth. A touch waxy. Even better on day two.

October 14, 2022 - Burgundy Dinner with Friends (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Absolutely massive, this is very ripe, very powerful, and intensely spiced with so much concentration from start-to-finish. This started as very backward and teasing us with brilliant potential, but a fair part of that potential was front-and-center when the bottle was finished three hours later.

March 11, 2022 - Some Wine Tasted at the Zachys La Paulée Auction; 3/10/2022-3/11/2022 (Le Bernardin Prive - New York NY): Small pour, brief note. Opulent throughout, showing ripe apple and baked apple with an inherent richness, but with a very energetic through-line helping keep this wonderfully vibrant. Much too young, but a great wine in the making.

November 8, 2021 - Monday Burgundy Cellar Visits - Albert Morot, Méo-Camuzet, and Ramonet (Cote d'Or): Tasting at the domaine. Bigger yet vs Bienvenues, but seemingly more integrated already now. So much ripe apple with some pear to start, then leaner and brighter middle-to-finish. So much here, yet with so much in reserve. This will be great young, but even better in a decade, 94-95 point potential.
