February 19, 2019 - Tasted next to 2008, 1996, 1990. Layered and complex on the nose - quite soft and perfumed, floral notes, red fruit, crushed stones, spices. Open and generous on the palate, great acidity, nice tannic structure still. Mineral, very long and vibrant finish. Lovely! 93-95

December 30, 2018 - Still a bit on the firm side. Leave for another five years or so.

October 11, 2018 - Dark red fruits, raspberry and sour cherry, meaty, and a bit rugged/dry through the finish. There’s enough fruit to give it time to harmonize and improve. Not as expressive or charming as I’d hope from an 02, and looking at other reviews I agree with the brawny description much more than the elegant characterization.

April 14, 2018 - Wines Tasted at HDH Auction: Fresh and dried red cherry with floral notes. Very big and long, even of this is brawny and firm for now. Popped and poured, this kept getting better with more air.

April 14, 2018 - Wines tasted at HDH Celebration of Burg Auction - Day Two: Wow nose of tarry red fruit with dried florals. Terrific elegant yet concentrated sweet red fruit. Good structure on the back end that clamps it down a bit. Can use another few years. Upside from here.
