September 17, 2008 - I opened this wine about 5 days ago and had it open for 4-6 hours and still didn't really like it much, but it has been better the last couple days. That as well as the strong tannins makes me think that this wine will age well. The tannins, to be honest, were overwhelming the first couple days and the only thing I was enjoying was the finish. I'm glad I kept this wine around and kept on trying it. The nose is a little tight but there is a fair amount of plum and cherry. The tannis have toned down a lot and there is a lot of plum, maybe spiced plum, and some hickory smoke on the palate turning to cherry on the finish. Even though I didn't like this wine at first I am now considering buying another bottle to put away.

February 11, 2008 - nose: real nice ripe nose filled with red fruit, floral tones, chocolate cherry, and blueberries
taste: very nice and smooth on the palate. Good feel and density that is light and easy to drink with chocolate cherries, floral tones, and some red fruit
overall: very nice and easy. Fun to drink, it isn't really deep, but is a really good value. It does well at what it needs to do, so you can't ask much more from it -

January 24, 2008 - Has a medicinal nose which subsides to rose and violet after a little air time; shows dark rich color with medium legs; has ripe plum and blueberry flavors with a short earthy but tasty finish with the tannins being reasonably up front. Paid $9 and this is definitely a good wine to pair with robust fair like barbeque and pizza. I will definitely pick up a couple to have on hand for a reliable red to serve with dinner. My 1st experience with this grape and Sicilian wine. Very nice!

September 29, 2007 - A bit harsh for a fine meal, but good table wine at 10 bucks
