October 21, 2023 - I'm really beginning to enjoy my 2020 Sangouard-Guyot Pouilly-Fuissés. Alas, soon they'll be gone, but I have plenty of '21s and '22s left. Wonderful wines.
(11/19/2022) Soft, sensuous and oh-so-creamy. A luxurious Pouilly-Fuissé. Absolutely a joy to drink now.
(9/14/2021) Sangouard-Guyot makes four Pouilly-Fuissés: Terroir, Authentique, Ancestral and Quintessence. The latter two have been my historic favorites, tho the Ancestral is right up there as well. Typical of the Sangouard-Guyot style, this one has great (tho young at this point) fruit with a touch of vanilla creme in the nose. The entry is lemon curd and the flavors saliva-inducing lengthy. It just gets better with air. A wine that is to be tasted now but held for several years to come. From a super estate producer.1 person found this helpful Comments (2) -

Suggest a lemon cream sauce with fish or chicken, for instance, where the food has both fat and acid rather than relying purely on the wine.
