June 24, 2014 - Very similar to the last time - this is a decent earthy blackberry and currant fruit laced wine, not overly complex, but decent balance and juicy acidity with fine tannins. Overall this comes accross as medium bodied with a nice finish.

April 2, 2014 - - Garnet color with medium forming legs. It's balanced with a medium body. Silky texture with a medium finish - Interesting take on Aglianico. Agree with JR. Burgundy-like in overall impression. Medium weight with powdery tannins. Great Tuesday night spaghetti with meat sauce wine.

October 1, 2012 - Better now than a few years ago, and no signs of decline. Who says inexpensive wine can't age interestingly?

August 31, 2012 - Good wine - not overly tannic, nice juicy blackcherry and currant fruit, slightly bitter finish, but a great food wine. Most delicious with food.

March 9, 2012 - Nose was much more red fruited than I expected after the last bottle. Settling down or just aging? Either way, chalky minerality over the red fruits on the nose. Palate was more consistent with the tarry black fruits and herbaceousness. Finish seems to be a bit clipped. Light to medium bodied.

February 17, 2011 - Deep dark wine with fabulous dark aromas surrounding a core of fruit. There is also a sweet marshmallow like aroma in there - very subtle. Wonderful simple complexity - light oak treatment but dark flavours and fruit at the core. Pronounced bitterness on the finish, but held up well by everything else, the light oak treatment showing as a subtle toastiness on the finish. Overall, though a lot of different flavours showing up in here, it remirded me of a quality dark chocolate in a glass - delicious.

February 11, 2011 - This bottle was sealed with a composite cork. Both this and the previous bottle bought from garagiste. Strange. This one was marginally better.

December 14, 2010 - Dark purple wine, interesting earthy, fruity aroma, with the most unssual long finish. It is as if you can taste the volcanic soil, a marvelous wine. Not for everyone.

November 2, 2010 - The color was dark red. It had a pleasant floral bouquet. However, i did not at all like how it tasted. To me the flavor was unbalanced with too much tanin and not enough fruit. The wine was bitter. There were hints of black cherry but it was buried under the tanin. I managed to get through one glass and tossed the rest of the bottle, which is unusual for me. On the other hand this is the first wine made for the aglianico grape that I have had so I have no reference on how wine from this grape should taste.
