Community Tasting Notes 10

    July 2, 2009 - 86 - Very Good
was fairly tight when first opened, but really fleshed out with nice fruit and structure as time went on

May 12, 2009 - We thought this was good stuff. There was a rubbery nose that blew off after 10 minutes open. Sweet black cherries, wet earth, and wet/dry fallen leaves.

April 30, 2009 - Enjoyed last night at Bistro 127 in Hickory NC with Kim over some very tasty tapas, last glass finished off just now on back deck. A pleasant but not great or memorable little Spanish mourvedre, significantly improved day 2, at this price point quite a good QPR but I don't necessarily highly recommend this. It would be a reasonable every day drinker as well as a reasonable party wine especially if not a lot of wine connoiseurs are expected to be present. Soft weak mouth feel, no real aftertaste, no off-tones, reasonably balanced, an entry-level wine at an entry-level price. Nose sharp yet fragrant with cherry, plum and rose. Primary flavors of stone, tar, dark plum and pepper.

February 27, 2009 - Strawberries, more resolved right now. But still kinda funky.

February 19, 2009 - Named after the Arabian history of the area that it is from. Hence the "Al Muvedre". Really rasiny. Almost overdone, as in flawed rasiny. What were they thinking? Maybe it will calm down with age? Big chocolatey palate but funky. Coffee coco finish. If you can get over the smell the palate is quite nice. But man oh man that nose is werid.
