April 7, 2023 - Deep ruby color. Dark fruits and earthy aromas. Medium body, juicy raspberry and black plum fruits, earth, baking spices, medium (+) acid, light rustic tannins.

March 5, 2023 - Beautiful purple hues with tiny hints of effervescence. Meaty body, smooth tannins, lowish acid, and ripe black and blue fruits. Great with spinach-ham-ricotta pasta and similarly cheese-inflected primi.

December 30, 2022 - This is a fine wine that’s just taxiing down the runway. Presenting, to my palate far better than some of what I read here. From my experience and according to multiple vintage charts 2019 Piedmont is singing but needs some time in the cellar. I opened this as an exploratory venture. In the glass- stunning. Gorgeous deep burgundy center drifting off to a less opaque edge. Lovely legs gripping the glass offering a promise of what’s to come. At 13%, wow.
I waited, after 15 minutes, ah it began to reveal. After some lack of focus it started to present. Think John Coltrane “A Love Supreme”. Character revealed. It’s young and still growing, I can be specific on characteristics just yet but it has backbone, structure, good genes. I think by 2025 this wine will be singing- all the components are there, if unfocused - Tannins, fruit, acid, character. Would it be better if it presented well right now? Yes.
