February 5, 2024 - Needs about two hours of air to true blossom. Well worth the time.
January 25, 2024 - Three hour slow ox. Very deep dark magenta color. Cranberry, walnut, black cherry, cassis, and coffee beans. Dry, plush palate. Firm, full, lower intensity tannins on the medium long finish.
I enjoyed this wine more than I normally do in recent years. It’s rich and smoky. It’s probably lower quality than it was years ago (much like Prisoner), but still a solid QPR. My score may have a one point bonus built in for value.
December 10, 2023 - I was surprised at how good this is. I've bought it across a few vintages and always found it quite solid, but this feels like a step up in richness and concentration. It feels like the blend they have is more than the sum of its parts. Will likely seek this out even more over time as a go-to.
November 10, 2023 - Two hour slow ox. Very very deep intense magenta color. Smoked black fig, black cherry syrup, blackberry, and dark chocolate brownie. Dry palate, with good acidity. Firm, full tannins on the medium long+ finish.
Got a great price on this red blend. Its an amazing QPR, especially considering it’s made by Andy Erickson (I think). It’s overall smokier than I like, so it’s primarily a party wine at our house.

September 25, 2023 - Hour decant, this is a well made very balanced blend that is tasty all the way around, with a fruit forward demeanor leading with dark fruit. Medium bodied with a longer finish, very nice.
September 9, 2023 - Fruit bomb. Drinking well right now. Definitely a crowd pleaser or party wine.
September 3, 2023 - Agree with Ghengis88, this is in a good spot and drinking well now. Fruity with some structure, so not flabby or falling apart yet, but this is a big wine that may fall off sharply at some point.
July 29, 2023 - Definitely better than the last bottle.
All notes have integrated. Wine is much smoother and balanced.
Dark berries and oak and vanilla off the nose.
Thick, and unctuous in viscosity.
Medium plus finish. Lots of fruit left. Floral perfume aftertaste. Wine is drinking nicely now. Drink now or hold. I don't think it will improve anymore.
