December 8, 2014 - Spicy fruit forward nose...really nice. A little oily on the palate with a zesty peppery cherry component and moderate acidity. Medium body with a medium finish. Not complex but very enjoyable.

March 12, 2013 - The wine is a deep, dark maroon color. The very outgoing and friendly nose features blackberries, Asian spices, black pepper, dying charcoal embers, cherry, vanilla, blueberries, and bittersweet chocolate. This is fairly full bodied with ripe tannins and good acidity. The palate is loaded with juicy berries, spice, and pepper. The finish is fairly long with some dark chocolate adding a nice element to the spicy, peppery, berries. This is drinking very nicely and should hold in the cellar for at least another year or two.

September 4, 2012 - This was pretty much a pop and pour tonight. This is a deep, dark maroon to purple color. There are blackberries, charcoal, black pepper, smoke, meat juices. vanilla, black cherry, and baking spices on the warm and comforting nose. The wine is fairly full bodied with velvety tannins and good acidity. This is locked and loaded on the palate, full of fruit, pepper, and spice. There is a long flavor filled finish full of spicy fruit. As with most Two Hands wines, this is full of ripe fruit but it is not sweet or syrupy. This is in a prime drinking window, drink over the next year or two.

March 22, 2012 - Pop and pour. Deep maroon color. Blackberries, charcoal, black pepper, vanilla, smoke, meat juices, baking spices, cherries on the rich smelling nose. Full body with solid, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. Rich and velvety on the palate with load of smoky, peppery, spicy berries. Nice length on the spicy finish. Full bore and ready to roll.

November 26, 2011 - Opened, but not decanted for about 2 hours. Deep, dark maroon color. Smoldering embers, blackberries, licorice, vanilla, meat juices, pepper, and just a bit of cherry on the nose. Medium to full body with solid, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. Velvety and rich on the palate with the fruit leading the way but nice savory notes in the background. Ripe but not syrupy and no raisin notes. Fairly long and very flavorful finish. In primetime now, but no hurry on this one. It won't improve but will hold for a few years.

October 8, 2011 - Deep, dark ruby color. Blackberries, cherries, smoke, baking spices, white pepper, licorice, flowers, and some vanilla on the very nice and promising nose. Full body with swolid, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. Big and ripe but not syrupy and with no raisiny notes. Nice peppery spice on the palate to help cut through the big fruit. Fairly long finish. I love this stuff.

September 19, 2011 - Deep, dark ruby to maroon color. Smoke, cherries, blackberries, toast, licorice, fresh cut flowers, white pepper, and vanilla on the very nice and open nose. Fairly full bodied with solid, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. Typical Two Hands, pushes the ripeness to the top of the mountain, but does not go over the top. No apparent residual sugar and no syrupy or raisin notes. Nice length on the finish with some nice spiciness adding extra complexity. If you want a glass of something subtle to ponder over, move along.

May 8, 2011 - Twist off and poured, smokey peppery nose, juicy palate with hints of pepper and vanilla, not jammy or sweet as I had expected, no noticable alcohol. Very solid vino and a pleasure to drink. Two hands continue to impress!

April 1, 2011 - Although not quite the 05 Roar Pinot we had before, this was so ready to drink. Brilliant fruits whiffs of petroleum smokey tar and yet it tastes like candy. Haven't even tried it with the dry aged sirloin and Chilean toothfish, sea bass. Got it for half price to boot. $20. Really really good.
