March 31, 2024 - PnP chilled. Stunning, exceptional stuff. Lighter bodied style with just a touch of lees and toast. Clean, bright, fruit. Bubble stream was fine and light but exploded in the mouth. Long finish. You could drink the all day.
    Wonderful Champagne. Don/Julie's bottle.

    March 16, 2024 - much controversy exists re: 2011
some in a wine group said to avoid completely
ok , not the greatest comtes I have ever had, but the bubbles and crispness were similar to other better years
liked by all at tango sur
I would say this is not the year to lay down for a long time

March 9, 2024 - Excellent champage and really blossomed as it opened up and warmed up. Fantastic initial light flavors of lemon-like flavors that Bec one more complex after an hour or so. Great QPR.

March 1, 2024 - Mittleres Goldgelb, feine Perlage. 93 vvPunkte

February 14, 2024 - Like drinking the water from a cold mountain stream of snowmelt running over river rocks. Austere but with depth and intrigue. Closed up right now, like the 2008 Comtes was a few years ago; it remains to be seen whether it will open up in the same way — hard to guess given how few 2011s there are.

January 21, 2024 - Cuvee Holiday Lunch: Paired with tuna tartare with apricot brandy sauce, warm brioche and fennel. Sauce was a but too sweet for the pairing, but Comtes <3 !!!
The wine is always a favorite and I could taste it a mile away. This cuvee was no different, albeit perhaps a bit more restrained than some other vintages. That being said, it had a funky, almost off-putting noise initially. Fortunately, it blew off fairly quickly.

January 17, 2024 - Tasted blind, guessed this was vintage Deutz from 2006. Deep lemon in the glass. Lovely richness on the nose in forms of apricot, nectarine, peach, biscuit, vanilla, sweet lemon. Medium-bodied with a moderate acidity and low alcohol. Tastes slightly sweet for a blanc de blancs, but in general the wine has some nice complexity and depth. Not life-changing, but the value is there.

December 19, 2023 - At 67PM: served in Zalto universals - this started off rich and sedate, but it seemed to gain depth and the classic Comtes grip.

December 17, 2023 - 2nd time round with the 2011, about 1 year since first tried. Color has advance to a deeper yellow, nose very nice with floral, yellow fruits and some tropical notes. On the palate, has put on a little weight from a year ago, but devoid of the structure and zippiness that I enjoy with a relatively young CdC. Might get a little better, but I still will drink this vintage over next 1-3+ years.
