February 2, 2019 - Surprise of the night. I’m somewhat notorious for not “getting” CSJ even from Rousseau. And ‘86 🤨 Nice at first, and truly lovely with about an hour. Floral aroma so elegant, palate never quite matched but was awfully good sweet and pretty. Dare I say we had the best 86 CSJ on the planet? Yes, I dare...

February 26, 2016 - Pale but not tawny yet. Lovely aromatics, albeit gently whispered. This wine is definitely all about subtlety and elegance. Much more fruit, richness and finish than others managed in CSJ around this time (70s or 80s). Just lacks complexity for me... a fantastic job by Rousseau in a poor vintage (note: I do find Rousseau's quality in CSJ is clearly demonstrated in these lesser years).

September 9, 2015 - Oh yeah. Pure. Red fruit on the palate. Not quite as long as you'd think.

    March 27, 2014 - Ranked no.1 in a Rousseau CSJ 86,90,91,93,96 vertical dinner.

Opened just before dinner without breathing enough beforehand. Elegant, big nose and long lasting for at least 3 hours. An understated vintage. Prefer to drink now although can wait for another 5 years.
