February 19, 2024 - Interesting thing about Albariño is there are many many producers I’ve never seen in my Minneapolis St. Paul market. Most local stores offer less than 5 on their shelves. This is another great new one for me. God knows there are far too many ‘plain Jane” versions, just like Chardonnay. As someone else mentioned this btl has much in common with Chablis. It starts out a bit too acidic but quickly fleshes out nicely in glass while filling out its flavor profile with an enticing array of citrus & stone fruit and stony mineral. From the wine list at Cane & Canoe in Maui which has been our best overall dinner of the trip to date w/ amazing ocean views nestled in the northwest side of Maui. Anyhow, I’m on the hunt for this Albariño but kinda doubt its in my market. Loved it and delighted to find it on a well thought out wine list.

June 28, 2023 - See my last note. This stuff is hard to beat for the $$. Raul Perez is some kind of wizard. Galician Chablis.

April 29, 2023 - Well now, this is a powerhouse. Meyer lemon, Palisade peach, and clementine notes coalesce, supported by bracing acidity and a dollop of sea salt. Loads of minerality emerge mid-palate, lingering on the long finish. Terrific, and an inspired match with chile rellenos.

March 18, 2023 - PnP into a Grassl Liberte. Needed something white and refreshing after pruning trees all day and I have a six pack of this. It delivered exactly what I needed. Raul Perez is such a great winemaker. This is the perfect balance of fruity and mineral with a stony finish that draws you to the next sip. Bright acidity in balance with the fruit. Makes me wonder why I chase $$$ bottles when this is readily available and hits the spot so well.
