    December 27, 2023 - Beautiful

December 7, 2023 - The nose is immediately expressive, with cherry and pomegranate fruits and some earth and mint. The palate is savoury and tight. With air, cherry fruits sweeten at the heart. It has moderate tannin and beautifully crisp, minerally acidity that hold everything in check. It is an '18 that will require plenty of cellar time to show at its best, but I like it very much now. It builds and holds in the mouth, without being overbearing or heavy.

April 26, 2023 - Tasting: A very good Barolo/Gattinara. Liked this more than both the 2013 Monvertino and the 2012 Francia.

April 8, 2023 - Pop and pour. Compared to the base '18 Nervi Gattinara, this was much more dark, dense and concentrated, too much so at this point (slightly candied?). For me, I'd much prefer to drink the base Gattinara instead of the Molsino at 1/3 the cost. I'll bury my remaining bottle but don't plan on buying any more.

April 1, 2023 - The ‘18 Molsino is a very impressive young wine, but last night was pretty shut down vs. what I recall tasting the wine in late 2021 at the winery. At this point, the wine impresses primarily for its textural elegance and density, but it’s not showing much complexity of flavor profile.

On the nose, I found dark red raspberry fruit, smoke, fresh red roses, anise, and mint. On the palate, I found similar dark red raspberry fruit tones, but coming across as a bit darker than on the nose. Dark floral tones and anise also showed on the palate, but overall this was pretty shut down. The wine is dense, but super smooth with almost no perception of tannin, a sign of the finest young Nebbiolo, and at this stage that is the primary thing that is impressive about it.
