January 1, 2015 - My wine of the NYE night (vs. Beau Vigne Romeo, 2006 Don Melchor, 2008 Fidelitas, 2007 WHSmith Marimar Pinot, 2000 Cogno Ravera Barolo and 2012 Walt Rita's Crown Pinot). Beautifully mature Napa cab with lush dark fruit, integrated caramelized oak, touches of leather and plus-body but still supple. Completely integrated. Nice nose and smooth medium length finish. Fantastic QPR

June 2, 2013 - Almost excellent Cabernet, developed, supple, at the peak of aging. Not a fruit bomb but a classic an the peak of aging.

December 31, 2012 - Ran through the vinturi, nice aromas of dark fruit, leather and cedar. Medium bodied, with flavors of mocha, raspberry, and light vanilla. Neat, precise and refined...more like a fine bordeaux than a New World Napa cab. Really enjoyed the finish, as the intricate flavors lingered on. Cork appeared to be new, encouraging for a 11 yr old wine. Excellent vintage, drink now, don't think this will improve with any additional age, but like most Mondavi cabs, will be drinkable for many years to come.

November 9, 2012 - Decanted for a half hour. A dark, eggplant garnet. Cherry wood chest, menthol, cashew, blackberry and pencil lead. The nose really flows and the palate is more balanced than the last time I had this in '05; there is an evolved and pointed reality here. A silky, medium-long finish; voluptuous; faint acidity. Drink now - 2017.
