January 29, 2021 - Dense, inky red colour. Lovely nose - dark fruits, spice and rose. Dark fruits, liquorice and savoury flavours. Bright with soft, smooth tannins. Lovely long finish. Very enjoyable.

January 22, 2021 - Dark garnet color; smoke and spice and gentle touch of mint at the background; well structured wine . One of the best Cab of Henschke.

August 13, 2018 - A little flabby and fat. Green pepper, young and dumb phased. Hold?

June 2, 2016 - 12 year old Aussie can with screw top. Minerally stemmy nose some cassis but otherwise muted. Dark solid garnet with no fading. But thin with short finish some cab fruit and acid. Not bad but not great.

September 5, 2013 - Langton's Classification Tasting (Carraigeworks, Sydney): Meaty, with earth and some eucalyptus. The palate has elegance to it, while there is good flavour intensity it never feels out of place. While I really liked the wine, a touch more depth would have really elevated it.

May 26, 2013 - Dark red bordering black; smoked spiced nose, burned notes; toasted, smoked, a bit oxidized (?), a bit astringent, some deep fruit underneath with a decent aftertaste; fine, but too pricy for the quality

September 16, 2012 - Delicious. Maybe a little primal compared to a good Bordeaux but no complaints here. Yummy blackcurrenty minty cab.

September 14, 2012 - Purple with vanilla and blackcurrant nose. Plenty of fruit. Quite liked this, albeit I think it needs time for the wood to recede.

March 14, 2011 - 92 points but with a minus sign. Extremely good fruit here. Still a bit of oak yet to integrate and it has several more years to really hit its peak. The minus is for the alcohol - I find 14% a little too intoxicating these days, and the alcohol was noticeable and left a hole in my stomach that wasn't too pleasant. So - demands food, but still would prefer a good Bdx to this for the handling of the alcohol.
