November 17, 2023 - Slow ox for one hour. Full bodied, ripe ripe fruit. Black currant, mocha, smoke, earth and spice. Not showing any age, but has developed some layering and complexity. Enough acidity that it doesn’t feel excessive. Long on the finish.

June 2, 2023 - Outstanding. Lots of tertiary flavours. Shiraz is a nice change of pace every now and again.

December 9, 2021 - Dug this out of the cellar and had with a nice steak. Cork broke, despite good cellar storage, but no signs of oxidation. Color was deep purple, edging towards black. Nose had some creosote and pencil lead and lots of black fruits. Palate was much the same, with smooth integrated tannins, lots of black fruits and creosote notes and a medium finish. Paired well with the steak, and a perfectly enjoyable mature Aussie Shiraz. Was it terribly complex or memorable? Not really, and for the price of admission, I don't consider it a great value. It had been a while since I had ventured to the Barossa Valley in my cellar, so it was good that it was at least a decent pairing tonight and not an off bottle. But not someplace I will return often.

November 27, 2021 - Another bad bottle of this with excessive barnyard

October 27, 2021 - Second bottle I have had of this recently and this one has some of the same issues. The wine tends toward overdone side of the spectrum with some stewed fruit character and some roasted flavors. Don’t get me wrong there are some good things about this wine and overall it’s an acceptable drink but it’s definitely from the “big flavor” era. I have a few more bottles and may wait this one out a little longer and see if it settles down more, as it seems like it still has some life ahead
