February 16, 2023 - A beautiful mature old school Cabernet. Starts with a shy nose, that gradually improved with time. Red fruits, cedar, tobacco, leather and dried herb aromas. Silky smooth body with red fruits, cassis, herbs, tobacco, cedar and mineral flavors. The tannins are fully resolved.

April 10, 2021 - At 21 years of age this wine is showing no signs of decline yet I would rate it as fully mature. A quite lovely Napa Valley Cabernet. Medium to full body, perfectly balanced, delicate nose which opens up as the wine breaths, medium to long finish. Nice accompaniment to a Medium Rare Filet. Drink now or hold for another 3-5 years. Will benefit from a 60 Minute decant. Mind you, my bottle had perfect storage, take that into account if you still have some bottles.

September 7, 2019 - Fun to try 20 year old cabs like this. '99 was a good vintage and have enjoyed many from that vintage. This held up well - nothing tired or awry though the fruit profile was weak. This had more of an earthy and smokey tone.

May 13, 2015 - Cedar, red fruit, tobacco and spice. Well balanced, dries a little on the finish. Very nice grab for a Wednesday night at home after baseball...

January 5, 2013 - Great find in a dark cellar in AA. Opens with musty cedar and tobacco aromas, some stale smoke, and dried herb notes as well. On the palate, the herbal notes blend well with the dried red fruits, and the minerality has replaced the tannin in the structure. The finish was light and fading, but that was the only drawback on an elegant wine. Excellent with prime rib and brussels sprouts.

December 4, 2011 - This was a well cellared wine and was impressive from the first wiff. Very smooth with nice fruit. The only downgrade for me was a short finish.

July 22, 2011 - Good, but not great, I think this is about past its prime, or this bottle wasn't stored properly before we bought it- over-ripe cherries, somewhat thin, very soft/minimal tannin, almost no finish. It did get better with a little time in the glass, but I don't think there's much fruit left. We really like Schweiger cab, and this was likely very good at some point, but may be past its prime, if you have any I think you should drink soon.

February 1, 2011 - This was the last bottle but it had depth,a very subtle nose of berry and licorice Much about it was old world but the taste was fresh. Tannis present but not pronounced and a medium finish. All in well balanced and interesting.

November 24, 2010 - This wine stated out with aromas and tastes that showed its age but developed into a beautiful silky wine with luscious fruit and smooooth tannins. It had lots of depth and was a treat to drink.
