May 23, 2015 - My last bottle and, as usual, this is a really nice village Chambolle that, tonight is displaying darker red fruit, lots of earth and sous bois, asian spice, coffee and some white pepper. The chalky tannins on the fairly long finish are still firmish, but not at all obtrusive. Again, there's very good depth here for a village Chambolle and I wish I had more, because I think this has a long life ahead of it.

March 27, 2015 - Service at Charlie Bird is efficient and engaging and after I ordered a bottle of 2005 Deux Montille Chambolle-Musigny ‘Les Babilleres’ and stuck my snoz in it to try, pulling a face that indicated trepidation (perhaps that’s just my normal face) our waiter immediately asked if something was wrong. I thought I detected a little bit of cork taint but it was only very faint and I declined his immediate offer of a replacement bottle. The wine was just ok with cherry fruit, plenty of earth and good density. By the end of the bottle I was wishing I’d called up the replacement off the bench as I’m sute some tca had marred what should have been a good bottle.

August 29, 2014 - This is drinking very nicely with about 1 1/2 hours of double decanting. The fruit is darker tonight, with lots of earth and sous bois, some Asian spice and some subtle tarry notes have crept in. The tannins are still firmish on the admirably long finish. There's good depth and concentration here for a village Chambolle.

March 30, 2014 - Opened, not decanted for about 4 hours. Tonight this is a really nice village Chambolle with softer red and dark fruit , earth, sous bois, a little Asian spice and a subtle suggestion of white pepper. The tannins on the finish have softened since last year, but are still abit firm and dusty. Quite nice and drinking very nicely tonight.

Revisited at about 6 hours after opening. Softened and picked a bit more depth.

June 1, 2013 - Pretty red and dark fruit with earth and sous bois notes framed in some subtle oak with some moderately firm, dusty tannins on the finish. Quite nice after a couple of hours of air.

May 31, 2013 - APPEARANCE: clear; pale ruby; medium legs & tears
NOSE: clean; medium intensity; flavour characteristics: red fruits (strawberry, red cherry, cranberry), black cherry, sweet spice (vanilla), forest floor; developing
PALATE: dry; high acidity; medium body; medium tannin; medium+ alcohol; long finish; medium+ flavour intensity; flavour characteristics: as per nose: red fruits (strawberry, red cherry, cranberry), black cherry, sweet spice (vanilla), forest floor
READINESS FOR DRINKING: Can drink now, but has potential for ageing.
FURTHER REMARKS: great Burgundy with precision and intense colour! Good concentration combined with balance and starting to show complexity. Drinksvwell already, but has many years ahead of it.

December 30, 2012 - This is a very nice Chambolle with nice dark fruit, earth, spice and some sous bois notes with subtle depth that sneaks up on you if you're paying attention. Quite delicious and needed a couple of hours of double decanting to open.

November 7, 2010 - Surprisingly complex to be so young, with various red fruit flavors, good acid, and slightly nutty oak. Held its own surprisingly well in the company of some very nice pinots.
