explosive nose
beautiful earthiness with fruit darting in and out
a level of early complexity and integration
may or may not get better, but worth opening up a bottle now if you have a few

June 18, 2023 - Last glass of Fathers Day. and did not disappoint. After 30 minutes in decanter, it started open with notes of blackberry, dark fruits, floral hints and then chocolatey on the back end. Tannins were ever present, but next night the wine was velvety with plenty of structure remaining. Will be even better next year

June 10, 2023 - Nose: Plum and blackbery, cocoa, florals and a bit of graphite. Sweet sandalwood and eucalyptus.
Palate: Slightly clenched wirh strong tannin, and high acidity. However you do see some supple chocolate, leather and cigar elements. Seems to have a bit to sort out right now on the palate.
Beautiful wine that must be starting to close up. Tannin is much more present than on the 2016, and the wood notes are prominent. Seems to need time. 95+1 person found this helpful Comment
