Community Tasting Notes 38

January 17, 2024 - Consumed my last bottle and paired nicely with Hungarian game meat ghoulish. Notes similar to last tasting: notes of ripe dark fruit, minerals, cedar with well integrated tannins. Long satisfying finish.

September 4, 2023 - Stinky on opening to the extent that we checked the producer’s website for drinking dates. By 2018, apparently. So with leaden hearts we decanted anyway and accepted we would expect to be drinking something closer to tawny port. The 3 hour decant worked marvels and it was a silky smooth red, and dark red, fruit delight. Long, silky and beautifully balanced. 15.5% alcohol, but never noticed it. A lovely success.

June 3, 2022 - Decanted 45 minutes. A delicious concentrated red blend with notes of cassis, mocha, raspberries. Great balance with very long finish. Tannins are soft and well integrated. Paired with grilled Wagyu steaks.

November 22, 2020 - This is my second bottle, first consumed in 2017. This wine continues to drink very well: notes of ripe dark fruit, minerals, cedar with well integrated tannins. Paired nicely with grilled venison chops with chile spiked cranberry sauce.

December 8, 2019 - Vermouth-like. Rust color. Very interesting, unusual wine
