Spannend.

Zweites Glas. Frucht und Erde sind fast weg. Verbranntes Streichholz! Wo kommt das denn her??

Nächster Tag. Hat leider etwas nachgelassen, das könnte aber auch am scharfen Essen liegen. Schmeckt heute wie ein Pinot Noir. Leicht trüb im Glas.

August 12, 2023 - Light body, red fruit on the fruit forward side. Easy sipper

January 16, 2023 - Many users of this site will be familiar with complaints about the generic quality of so much modern red wine -- full-bodied, low acid, dark-fruited, high alcohol, could be from anywhere. But I wonder if the wines that are made in reaction to this trend -- light-bodied, low alcohol, red fruit, high acid, some funkiness -- aren't also potentially generic. I should say I liked this wine -- I appreciated the relatively low alcohol (12%) and the refreshing acidity, and I found myself drinking it much more quickly than I usually drink red wines. But I would have a hard time identifying it as particularly Sicilian or specifically Nero d'Avola (though this may just reflect my ignorance). As I suggested above, this seemed like a wine that is more of its time than of its place, more like post-modern reds from Navarra or Mendocino or Jura than like a wine from Sicily.

November 17, 2022 - Cranberries, hibiscus tea. A pleasant food wine but .. not quite as expressive as I’d expect.
