  April 7, 2012 - This bottle has called from the cellar many times, but until now, I’ve resisted its Siren’s song. Risking pulling a wine far too young and raw, I popped the cork, poured a small amount in a glass and left it for an hour. Slipping a sip for a taste test, this Siren did not steer m to any dangerous rock-lined shore. Instead, it lifted me out of the boat and lulled me into velvet lined pillows of flavor and drowned me seductive luxury with flavors of ripe cherry, rosemary, smoked meat, iodine and mineral. Velvety smooth from the first sip to the last dram. The tannins still have an edge and will carry the wine for years. Yet, just now, those edges have rounded and the power is of a more feminine nature. When paired with the rack of lamb, the effect is simply pleasurably numbing. Loads of sediment. 13.5% alc. With pecan mustard crusted rack of lamb and smashed potatoes. Highly Recommended.

  March 24, 2008 - A dark cherry color that leans to black raspberry color. While the nose shots grenache with the spicy, cigar and cedar, the palate delivers more complexity with fruit of cassis, cherry and blackberry, while cigar and cedar carry the mid-palate. A solid backbone of mineral carries the palate from start to finish. This has years a life in front of it, but is drinking nicely now. Served alongside the Jamet, it just cannot measure up. But it’s a well made wine that delivers a lot of pleasure. 13.5% alc. With rack of lamb in an olive-mushroom sauce. Recommended.
