March 5, 2021 - Drinking beautifully straight out of the bottle. Case had been stored brilliantly cork perfect. Classic mature cnp

February 20, 2021 - Cool, dry and balanced, with a nice grip. Almost Burgundy in style. Plenty of spicy Syrah aromas. Light weighted and lacks the body of a "normal" Clos des Papes.

November 21, 2018 - Muddled start, needed some oxygen to show properly. Nicely fresh, with some cherry notes, earthy and good fruit character. Had good weight. Fine

May 30, 2017 - On the nose: reticent with hints of red fruit.
On the palate: medium/light weight, cinnamon, red berry, hint of spice/tea
On the finish: tannins are fully resolved, hint of acid on finish but a short finish, with a slight kick of alcohol.
Likely at peak/slightly over the hill.

June 19, 2016 - 89-90: Definitely showing it's age, brick red core to a brick brownish rim, cedar, dried herbs, tar, and mushroom. Not much in the way of fruit left here, rather this is showing nice mature Rhone character. A very prominent menthol note developed and stayed toward the end of the bottle, a little light, as wine stays translucent throughout, tannins have good grip and are slightly gritty. Overall nice mature CdP.
