February 5, 2023 - A syrah with a bit of difference. It’s pretty dusty on the nose, with black fruits and spice coming through, but that old cupboard aroma is definitely there. Lots of dark berry fruits, but I reckon it does have some sweet sultana on the front and middle palate, but the back palate is savoury interest with tobacco and anise. Maybe lacks a bit of line if I were to be critical, but this wine is right up my alley. Delicious, flavoursome, complex and interesting. Impact without heaviness.
