February 1, 2022 - Not my preference but was free, so I had it with smoked pork chop, apple sauce and garlic mashed. Decent cab flavor profile, with restrained oak, tannin. Not much complexity or bouquet, but fruit was ok. Better values out there, but this pairing was way better than I expected. I’d have preferred pinot noir or even shiraz. I guess I learned to think outside the box.
