April 29, 2021 - Still dark for grenache, dark spice on nose. Powerful alcohol balanced by long acidity

Still showing a lot younger than 2005. Increasing bite over course of meal

January 19, 2021 - Another of those bottles that got 'lost' at the bottom of the rack, gave it a couple of hours decant, very dark no fading on rim.
Lovely scented raspberries, blackcurrants and oak, tasting of ripe red fruits some spice and a slight herby flavour, big but not over the top, lovely example of the grape, something you used to see more of in Australian wines, sadly not so much today.
Still years in this one amazingly fresh after 15 years.

October 31, 2020 - Clean capsule, no sign of seepage.
single piece cork, maybe 30% cork saturation, excellent fill level.
    Heavy sediment, use a sieve.

V: Dark red, veering towards purple, opaque.
    N: raspberry, oak, vanilla.
P: Flavours are still primary, with lots of fruit. Oaky attack, finishes on a bit of heat and cordial. Big wine, plush texture, fine tannins. Less my style, and definitely a showy wine that's best to be had on its own, post-meal after you've decided you wanted another, bigger red rather than a fortified wine.

Drink or hold to 2028, some upside anticipated.

October 21, 2020 - Scents of candy floss, Lavender, cherries, black currants & refreshing forest.
Delicious acid, sharp tobacco on the attack, ripe mellowed tannins with a round finish. Still very fruity and fresh for a 2005.
Drinking well now, I think this can aged much further.

August 19, 2020 - Over two nights, compared with same vintage Romas and 04 Blewitt Springs

Major impression is of more (American) oak than Romas, and sweeter fruit
Against older Blewitt Springs, showed similar fruit character and underlying tannins

July 17, 2020 - Ripe and forward nose of strawberry jam, fresh oregano, leather and toasty spices. Good depth. The palate has some salty mineral elements, dense red fruits and fresh fennel. Elegant and rich at the same time. Medium bodied with a polished structure. Transition is seamless, ending long and lingering. Ready to drink now and will keep for a few more years.

    June 28, 2020 - Red spice permeates

Dark for grenache, lot of skin contact. Cork showing 20% absorption. Little sediment. Ripe fresh acidity, alcohol creeps up on you.

Feels more like a 2015. Long way to go
