October 18, 2023 - Dinner at Nostrana (Nostrana, Portland OR): There is always trepidation with opening an older White Burg. That trepidation even went further when seeing this pour a lighter gold color. Granted, that is to be expected for a Chardonnay with age on it but the nose took that worry. There is good balance and mature tones of red apples, honeydew, quince, nectarines, creamed peaches, custard, vanilla extract, and daffodils. The Medium bodied feel is textured and mature with integrated, medium acidity. I wouldn't push this wine much further, but it is a real joy to drink right now even with it on the other side of the hill.

December 7, 2011 - Leiden Shiraz tasting December 2011: Sweet citric nose with white flowers. Concentrated taste, mineral, a bit floral with a slight bitterness that is very appealing. Classic Puligny.
