February 3, 2018 - Drinkable but over the hill. I wish I hadn't lost track of this wine! My intuition tells me that it was a good red it its day.

    March 1, 2010 - This was actually a 2005 wine. There were 695 cases.

September 2, 2009 - Quality of the Monterey/Paicines estate fruit really comes through in this interesting and enjoyable winemaker's blend. Needs a bit of decant (1/2 hour) to integrate the flavors, but drinking very well now & should have a few years left to develop further. Not overly complex, but there's good structure here with an enticing nose, rich palate of blackberry, milk chocolate & a touch of cigar box, followed by a medium-long and very pleasing finish.

April 23, 2009 - Strong alcohol and dark fruit on nose upon opening. First taste prior to decanting shows alcohol, tannins, and decent fruit which is overpowered by the tannins and alcohol.
After decanting for 90 minutes, the alcohol has mostly blown off and the tannins seem to be settling. Bright plum and chocolate flavors with a nice mouthfeel and a decent finish.
Overall a very enjoyable bottle of wine that should age nicely for another few years in the bottle.

September 24, 2008 - Visually: Deep, dark, plummy magenta colour.

Sniffed: Dry, tannic, dried cherries. A bit vinegary, with hints of tobacco.

Tasted: Hot and tannic as the nose predicted. I find it a bit harshly acidic, but there's abundant rich dried dark fruit and some lovely earthy notes. Medium-bodied. It's an interestingly complex and enjoyable wine, but I think this would benefit greatly from decanting - which was not an option for me at the time. It did improve even sitting in the glass, however.

    68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 3% Syrah
    14.4% ABV
