March 15, 2014 - Last bottle but better than the one I just opened. Carmel, apples, spices, pineapple and subtle oak. This is more balanced and complex and should still be consumed now. Wonderful effort.

    December 25, 2009 - A: Clear, medium gold
N: Quite vegetal - cooked green beans, some mineral notes, leesy, nutty, aldehyde; very Burgundian
P: Very similar to nose - med + body, med alc, very nutty on long finish
Tastes very similar to Meursault to me - rich but not overdone. Ann's favorite. Didn't seem to fit very well with the Smith Madrone or Buty. Completely different style. Would love to taste this along side some Burgundies.

July 21, 2009 - Apples and some butter on the nose. Delicious wine, crisp green apple at first taste. With air and warmer temp a touch of butter. Really enjoyed this.

June 28, 2009 - Rich and full bodied with flavors of ripe fruit (peach, apple, citrus) with lots of vanilla. Massive fruit is balanced out by high acidity. This is definitely a California chardonnay --- way too rich to be anything else. Nothing subtle about this wine - almost overpowering in its intensity.

March 12, 2009 - Butterscotch and vanillan on the nose, with a rich, full-bodied mouth-feel, with rich vanilla and baked apple on the palate. A profound Chardonnay.

November 15, 2008 - Good vanilla and spice. Needs to be decanted as it was opening up after a few minutes in the glass.

September 5, 2008 - Wonderful nose of creamy vanilla pudding with hint of lemon. Well balanced between the creamy vanilla flavors but with enough acidity to not take it way out of bounds. Some green apple and hint of pear on the finish.

July 10, 2008 - Dark gold color. Nose was light with yellow apple and a little butter. Palate was not light at all. Crisp apple, terrific balance of fruit and acidity. Absolutely delicious stuff. My favorite of the Auteur Chards so far.
