Community Tasting Notes 9

January 19, 2024 - Informal tasting note. Drank at la boccuci in Zurich together with ro. No decant. Paired with ragu with wild boar. Subtle, roses, really balanced, chewiness, cherries lingering. Already drinking quite well but would decant for a couple of hours next time.

    September 8, 2023 - Medium Ruby Colour

    High Acidity
    High Tannin
    High Alcohol
    Medium Bodied
    Long Finish

    Medium (+) Intensity
    - Raspberry, Strawberry, Red Cherry, Red Plum, Red Currant, Violet, Cinnamon, Liquorice, Anise, Tar

Floral and spicy with ripe sweet berries, a bit astringent with the high acidity and tannins, but mellowed out after an hour of breathing, tannins were still quite grippy but well integrated, well balanced, good intensity and complexity, with a long bittersweet, coffee like finish. Drink or hold.

June 16, 2023 - Soft red fruits of ripe redcurrant, strawberries, red flowers, hot stones and forest floor on the nose. Palate is rich and surprisingly smooth for such a young wine. Medium-bodied structure with some firm grip at the edges, typically of a good Barolo at this age. Finish has a nice touch of old leather to complete the tasting. Ready to drink with 2 hours of decanting, keeping this for a decade more is recommended. 92-94 pts.

March 30, 2023 - Wonderful, lifted, complex nose. Very fine and expressive. Drinking well young but I expect will age beautifully.
