May 1, 2014 - Russk. Best bottle of this vintage Rufino, yet. Seems to be rounding out, less angular and more earthy. which i had more. 91+
August 13, 2013 - Paste prime. Drink now.
March 12, 2013 - Russk. Pleasant nose of earth. Mild. Mouth of black cherry and tar.
December 14, 2012 - popped and poured at our gala. Excellent wine, good mouth feel and plenty of fruit.
June 20, 2012 - Our table was impressed, Complex and full body but not extreem acidity
March 4, 2012 - Didn't really open up on day one. Day two consistent with prior notes. 85-88
November 14, 2011 - Nose started pleasantly earthy with dark cherry and oak. Medium body with plenty of black fruit earth, and black tea on the palette. worth the money not sure it would benefit from much aging.
August 21, 2011 - I opened this after a disappointing '04 Il Poggione Brunello that we only 1/2 finished. Did a pop and pour on this and it rose to the occasion to match my wife's wonderful eggplant parm dinner. On the nose was dark fruit and a forest floor scent. Good mouthfeel with soft tannins and a nice blackberry component. Paired well with the dinner.
August 18, 2011 - Leather, damp earth and limited fruit on the nose carrying to the initial taste. Marries well with robust pasta. Nice dry finish with the sangiovese backbone really showing itself. Give it a couple hours of air.
July 23, 2011 - Good food wine. Cherries, plum, plenty of oak character on the nose. Cabernet comes through with typically structured tannins and some deeper black fruits, coffeed oak, before the sangiovese savoury tannins clean up the finish. Attractive if a bit obvious
