December 24, 2021 - Beautiful balance. Entering maturity still with plenty of primary fruit. Just hints of sous bois, but the tannic rough side to this wine has disappeared, it's pure joy. Still on the upside, I think.

October 15, 2021 - 2/6, excellent cork (marked Clos de Couchereaux)
Medium garnet core, pale garnet rim. Nose shows cranberries, touch of rich earth and mineral though still quite primary. Medium bodied, cranberries, mineral, quite lean, fresh acids, medium/good length slightly firm finish. Decent but not, at this stage at least, exceptional. Leave 2-3 years til next bottle.

July 19, 2021 - This wine is still singing. Of all the great French wine vintages -- I'm a Bordeaux guy, 2016 and 2014 stand out, and 1998 on the right bank -- the 2005 vintage in Burgundy may be the single greatest vintage I have experienced. It just never lets me down. This simple village Jadot, 16 years later, is such a beautiful representation of the region and the vintage. Still, incredibly, youthful. Earthiness and classic fruit and structure. 2005 Burgundy... the color showing little sign of fading. I have one bottle left from my cardboard case that I think I paid less than $10 per bottle for, I think I'll hold it for at least another five years. Wow. 93 points.

October 12, 2018 - Actually better than last time, sous bois here, sweet berries, soft touch, very much a mature Burgundy - no signs if fatigue. Quite impressive for what it is.

September 20, 2017 - Cartainly mature now with a deep fruit, notes of lether and sous bois; everything has come together and the wine is fine and balanced, even aristocratic. Fine example of the vintage. #Bruun&Hjejle
