December 7, 2020 - Very mature now. Fruit is wearing a little thin, and tannins are just about gone. Aroma is light, earthy, dusty, but palate still shows plenty of classic Priorat minerals. Was likely much better many years ago, but still an enjoyable drink and showing some impressive longevity.

December 24, 2018 - What a wonderful and aromatic nose on this wine. Berries, burnt cedar wood and lead pencil, but ...... the washed out fruit on the palette was just such a letdown. The overly acidic mouthfeel overwhelmed the fruit and as such this wine was unbalanced and a let down.

Going to let sit for 12 hours and try again on Christmas day. It will be facing quite a line up.

February 2, 2018 - There's some nice classically Priorat berry and slate aromas but the palate is fairly washed out, not oxidizing or getting nasty, just dilute. Drink by 2012.

November 23, 2014 - Nose not as complex as expected, mostly dark berry fruit. Rich tasting with game, the hallmark wet stone, and subtle spice. Tannins fully integrated. Very little acidity. Evident barrique exposure (label even says "23 Barrique") adds vanilla and cacao, evident even at 20 years but not overwhelming. Not old tasting. But a little past its prime.

March 6, 2013 - no notes taken during consumption but the wine is a bit too fruit forward especially in a blueberry sense.

January 1, 2013 - Edit** The orriginal note for this bottle was incorrect**

No formal notes taken but very fruit forward and it made for a great discussion as to our likes in wine.

May 20, 2012 - This looks young, no amber at all along the rim. Oak shows nicely on the nose and in the glass, with leather, graphite/stone. If I were tasting blind, I'd likely guess California cabernet blend - perhaps a library Hess Collection (been ten years since tasting those). There's probably a few years left in this one, though from reading prior reviews just about everything but the oak appears to be falling off, so drink up.

March 17, 2012 - Absolument excellent et encore bien jeune. Quel équilibre et bonne longueur en bouche sur les fruits noirs. Super bouchon.

June 1, 2011 - Sharp acidity and spice, mostly resolved but still holding some good structure. A bit of oak comes through, and the overall impression is good, but not great. This might have been better in the recent past; I don't see much upside potential in holding this any longer.
