July 23, 2023 - P&P straight from the cellar - good after five minutes and fully ready to go by the second glass. A big jammy fruit critter, but tart, not sweet. Sour cherry, dark plum, all the darker berries. Good stuff, very different from the more complex Evangelho Heritage.

Everyone else here seems to love it with pizza but we had the opposite reaction. After a rather acidic pizza "alla norma" (tomato and eggplant), the lack of acid/edge here was a demerit. But when we got to the next glass, with dinner in the rearview and just lounging around drinking the wine by itself, we enjoyed it a great deal more.

May 22, 2023 - Quick decant. Nose of red fruits and roses seems a bit muted. Deep cherry fruit delivers a low bass note on the palate, adding spice and pepperiness as harmonics. Gentle acidity leads into firm tannins, dark cherry, star anise, and oak. This wine needs more time in the bottle and/or a longer decant. 91+ points.

May 4, 2023 - A different face for Evangelho. Bright raspberry, cherry, a little jammy. Some pepper/clove. Less complex than the Evangelho heritage. Bright acid, medium tannin. More fruit on the palate with a little pie filling + graham cracker on the finish. This is fun! A solid pairing with a digiorno's frozen pizza.

February 13, 2023 - Decanted for about 45 minutes before tasting. Open and inviting nose of what I can best describe as spiced, very ripe, raspberry dominant red fruit pie filling. Medium bodied, fruity, and balanced with high-ish acidity (but not as acidic as I was expecting). Palate hits me with raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, and a bit of blueberries supported by sweet nutmeg and black pepper. A lot of silky tannins wash away the fruit and then turn dusty. Long espresso, cocoa, and mineral finish that ends with a sandy mouthfeel.

I am a bit surprised that this was ready to go with only a 45 minute decant. This is atypical for my normal Carignan experience, especially on a bottle this young.
