Community Tasting Notes 6

December 28, 2023 - 18c; No decant: coppered purple; nose of wet leather, barn, cloves, tar, pinks; bright attack with soft tannins, fresh acidity, full fruit, long finish, balanced; schist, bacon, red cherries, strawberries, red licorice, cloves, sage; (next day showed even more complexity); a lovely wine from a great producer; 18.5

December 4, 2017 - Great match with slow roasted lamb shoulder. Feminine Barbaresco - well balanced with good tannins. But not that much fruit depth and lacking complexity. Nice wine with food, but not one of my favourite Nebbiolos. I'd drink it up soon.

July 31, 2016 - 18c; no decant (bottle opened for two hours); bright coppered-red; delicate nose of mint, sage, pinks, cherry tobacco; lovely balance, mouth-coating, soft tannins, vigorous fruit, long finish; bright minerals, metals, raspberries, caramel, mint; a supremely feminine Barbie; 18

March 25, 2012 - This is aging nicely. Balanced, complex and pure on the palate with a lengthy finish. Decanted for 4 hours.

April 1, 2011 - Decanted for 2 hours. I found this bottle a bit light on both the nose and palate. However it was well balanced and structured with a soft finish. It should improve with cellar age.
