Community Tasting Notes 9

    May 19, 2023 - 2/2, vg cork. Decanted 1/2hr.
Pale/med garnet core, mahogany tints, pale garnet/mahogany rim. Nose shows dried red fruits, soil, touch of truffle and fig. Quite complex. Medium bodied, fine-boned with fine but still lightly firm tannins, red fruits, soil, fresh acids, medium-good length finish, medicinal notes. Probably time to drink up.

February 8, 2022 - From magnum. Opened 4 hrs before dinner. From memory.
Fruit very much still present, with earthy and tarry notes and the beginning of mushrooms, forest floor. On the palate it is in perfect shape, still fruity, earthy and deep, silky, with very fine-grained and light tannins.

April 29, 2018 - Decanted for an hour to accompany a pork fillet cooked in a sweet-ish sauce.Tannins, cherry fruit and acidity beautifully balanced with a long dry finish. Wish it waa not the last bottle.

February 24, 2016 - Decanted 1/2 hr. Medium garnet core, pale garnet rim. Nose is very floral, classic rose petals, red fruit, still quite youthful, a touch reticent at first. Medium bodied on the palate, more expressive than the nose, still floral, some depth to the red fruit, tannins almost resolved, attractive fresh acidity, good length, crisp, still slightly firm, floral finish. Classic feminine Barbaresco, not hugely complex but I really like the florality. Drinking well but no need to hurry to drink up.

February 6, 2014 - Nebbiolo: Pomodoro, salamoia, bello, balsamico anche di note vegetali di erba, frutta in gelatina. Nettamente il vino della serata bevuto nella sua fase evolutiva migliore. Vibrante
