December 31, 2017 - Cinnamon on the nose with a mouth of black cherry and maybe a hint of blueberry. Very easy to drink.

September 6, 2010 - Dark color, blackest of cherries, and a hint of white pepper on the nose on opening. Black cherry and some black raspberry upfront, with delicious raspberry with blueberry overtones taking over from the mid-point through the finish.

+ 45 minutes More blackberry than black cherry upfront, but the backend remains similar

+90 -- the blackberry tamed a bit, more in balance. Yum 14.3%

July 4, 2008 - Calaveras County Wine Tasting (The Twisted Oak Winery, and Murphys, CA.): Like the Torcido, this wine appeared oxidized both at the winery and at the Murphys tasting room. Again, both pourers said the wine tasted as it always does, leading me to believe the whole lot was oxidized. Puzzling. Maybe both were oxidized bottles, and the pourers just had high thresholds?

June 12, 2008 - Dark cherries and blackberry pie aromas. Initially had a green, stemy mid-palate cutting into the blackberry flavors. After being open for a long time it got better. Sierra Foothills earth came forward. Nice tannins added a light peppery finish.

June 8, 2008 - Decanted for 2 hours the night before a tasting. Dark berries on the nose, along with a little spice. On the palate there were some blackberries, raspberries, and a hint of blueberry. Not too heavy on the tannins and it was very smooth front to back.
