July 8, 2019 - Quel plaisir !

April 12, 2019 - This followed the deep and dark Peyre Rose, so I was mainly tuned into contrast. This was somewhat lighter in body though still quite powerful. Its fruit was a lot brighter with minerals and acidity more marked. The 50% of Cabernet Sauvignon gave this a much more Bordelais character and greater elegance without sacrificing some generosity conferred by the Syrah. Excellent.

January 18, 2019 - Far and away my best bottle, sad it is my last. Pop and pour. On the nose, a stunning mix of garrigue, herbs, blueberry and blackberry, wild strawberry...wow. On the palate, excellent acidity, good richness with more herbs and spice, some sweet red fruit...soft attenuated tannin on the finish. A fitting final bottle.

May 27, 2018 - Quite similar showing to a previous btl from the same batch. On the nose, a hint of cab based vegetal and charcoal notes, with strawberry and gamey notes in the background. On the palate, ok acidity and more strawberry and spice. Tannin completely attenuated on the slightly spicy finish.

Rockss and Fruit

(Domainde de Trevallon) This was another somewhat beastly animal-like wine. Again some serious barnard and bretty aromas out of the gate but with some air some complex spices and dark fruits emerged. Palate was like a semi-mature Bordeaux. Classically structured with great concentration and a wonderful velvety finesse. The fruit is pretty explosive and the delineation is damn near perfect. This is alot more open than when I had it 3 years ago. A great vintage for Trevallon and as good if not better than the '89 . . . which is damn good.

(Domaine de Trevallon) Somewhat cloudy but that did not seem to affect the wine. Soaring nose of leather, blueberry, tar, bacon fat, light cocoa, mint smoke, cherry, wet earth and mineral. Real beautiful minerality and nuance on the stunning nose. Palate lives up to the promise of the nose. Sweet fruit and tannin along with lively acidity. Really lush and velvety mouthfeel with an incredibly long finish. Lots of complex minerality at the backend. This could use maybe a couple more years to smooth out the tannins but this is glorious now.
