September 3, 2022 - Powerful and dense. Aging has improved it but for me it still feels somewhat off balance with the compact fruit and alcohol.

May 12, 2020 - Well worth the wait. Drinking beautifully now but could actually improve with more age. Although this is a very powerful Amarone, it is quite balanced due to the high acidity and firm tannins. Complex, long, red cherries, chocolate and a hint of sweat!

December 27, 2017 - Brilliant and elegant wine drinking well in 2017. Plums, tart cherries, stewed prunes and pop rocks with a hint of dark chocolate. Plush tannins. Beautiful.

December 24, 2016 - Double-decanted about an 1.5 hours before consuming. Had sampled a small glass upon uncorking, which came across quite earthy at first impression. Opened up quite nicely after some time breathing, constantly evolving as the night went on, showing varying nuances and complexity. Notes of deep dark berries, baking spices, damp earth and garden herbs. Tannins have integrated and resolved well on this one, leading way to a silky/velvety finish with good length. This red was the highlight among all of the wines over the holiday weekend. (93+)

August 18, 2016 - Pure, some raisin, big fruit, high alcohol. The initial tasting was spectacular, definitely a treat. However, drank over a week and it definitely tailed off after a couple of days open.

October 23, 2015 - The fruit is overdone and overripe. It has some acidity but overall it is quite flabby and dense in the fruit.
    Quite disappointing.

October 21, 2015 - Not tasted for 4-5 years and unfortunately the over-ripe fruit seems to be dominating a lot. There is still a good structure but the acidity seems to be hiding at the moment.
The wine seems disjointed and unbalanced and the sweet fruit is dominating everything.
Quite a a disappointment most likely caused by the warm vintage.

August 11, 2015 - Double decanted; moderate sediment.
Before I could proceed to drink, there was a power failure and I made no notes on the first pour.
Day 2: Garnet color. Wonderful bouquet of dark cherry and leather. A full-bodied, intense dry wine with strong fruit, acids and tannins. Very long and pleasing finish. I would guess this wine is now near its peak, but should be going strong for several more years. As with all Amarones that I've had, this should be consumed with food.

November 22, 2013 - Still quite tannic, needs a couple of hours to breathe. Excellent concentration, full flavour, quite dry by Amarone standards
