February 28, 2012 - This was more like 86 points when we first opened it -- a bit thin. It really filled out with some air, both on the nose and the palate, bringing everything into balance. After about an hour, hour and a half, it was more like 90 points. Decant and enjoy!

February 19, 2009 - great aromas of blueberry, blackberry, black currant with smoke, tar, and briar on the nose. delivers smooth blue and black fruits on the attack with med-full body and plush mouthfeel. seamless structure that finishes with smooth and chewy tannins and a touch of herbacesousness and smoke. enjoyed the bottle thoroughly with a meal of duck breast and parmesan grits. wish i had more.

December 12, 2008 - Way too acidic. This wine had no fruit, just acid water and alcohol. Very disappointed.

June 16, 2008 - Lots of cherry and cranberry. Some currant and hint of anise. Nice wine at this price point.

July 6, 2007 - Andrew Murray has these Rhone styled wines down to a science, right here on American soil. We love the wines they are producing, and this is another great example, opened up on the deck with Pam's parents. Popped and poured right after a 2004 Sanford pinot noir, this showed some nice cherry, pepper, vanilla, and caramel on the nose. The palate showed a very nice creamy texture with tons of cherry and cranberry, with hints of cassis and caramel. All in all a great wine that will only get better in the bottle. Great now, but giveit 2-3 years and you'll love it that much more. 89 points. Cheers!

November 30, 2006 - Andrew Murray Tasting (Los Olivos, CA): A syrah that manages to be smooth and bright at the same time. Cherry and oak aromas, with blackberries and a smoky note on the palate.
