June 2, 2018 - Poured with a medium garnet coloring, not bricking on the rim. Lots of black fruit, some cassis with just a hint of mature cab chocolate and leather. Tannins have dropped away for a very smooth drinking wine. Age worked wonders in this instance!

May 31, 2015 - Acid forward by itself. Improved significantly with food. Not a good QPR

    March 25, 2013 - Good not great.
Light smooth tannins, light body, but lacking the Cab essence and heft one expects from the varietal. Beckmen does some nice well priced cabs, this unfortunately fell short of the mark. Previous experiences led me to expect more as 2002 is a delicious Beckmen Cab.

July 2, 2012 - Not a great bottle of wine, but Santa Ynez is not cab country. A bit bland.

May 3, 2012 - A decent bottle but the 2004 was better. Cassis and black cherry fruit. But not much else about this wine stands out.

March 17, 2012 - Very nice! Drinking well now, though I'd agree w/the window here.

June 20, 2011 - Not my favorite Beckmen. The 2002, 03 and 04 were all outstanding. 2005 is just good. More French in style than prior vintages.
