  November 25, 2022 - A bit too heavy on the toast and yeast upon opening, but that quickly disappeared. A little on the astringent side, but the acidity makes food pairing good, but a must. Definitely some stone fruit, with touches of the yeast and toast evident, though not as much as when first opened.
  Not so much fun as a quaffer.
  For the price versus quality, we're sticking with Mumm and Moet and for half the price domestic Roederer, Gloria Ferrer and others.
  A purchase from Wine Spectrum, can't really give this a thumbs up or down.

  August 21, 2022 - Promis is a Grand Cru Champagne that combines the energy and body of Chardonnay from Avize with the intensity and spice of Pinot Noir from Verzenay, setting the bar high for a Grand Cru Champagne. For one must know that Richard is usually one of the last producers to harvest the ripe grapes (the last is usually Selosse). Thanks to the long aging on the fine lees and the ripe fruit, Promis is a rich and complex wine. The harmony between the powerful minerality of the Chardonnay and the gentle depth of the ripe, vinous Pinot Noir is palpable from the first whiff to the last sip, making this cuvée a wonderful drinkingpleasure. The aromas range from oyster shell, yellow apple, brioche, some cream, lemon curd, and nice spice. The palate is broad and inviting and is packed with a powerful core of ripe fruit and powdered stone. This is a Champagne that will find a wide audience, ranging from the Champagne novice to the connoisseur. Cheers!
