Community Tasting Notes 1

January 28, 2007 - {screwcap, 13%, A$21} A bright, young purple-ruby colour. The nose presents lots of ripe raspberry & plum fruit, some vanilla & chocolate a little oak – it’s all nicely balanced and modestly-scaled. The palate follows the nose with quite light weight of fruit, ripe but subtle, and underpinned with a slight earthiness, a savoury grip, and some warmth on the finish. Light-medium body, with dusty medium-weight tannins, even weight across the palate, and marginally short finish, this is a pretty good wine for those who struggle with over-the-top fruit but find, say, Vin de Pays lacks stuffing. Another year or two of aging wouldn’t hurt either.
