  March 27, 2009 - A very interesting glass of wine. Lots of pleasant raspberry, chocolate, dust, and bramble flavors. A really nice balance of sugar and acid. Great mouthfeel and a decent finish. Even better, only $4.50 for a hearty glass of this stuff during happy hour at Jaleo.

On the palate the medium bodied wine contains it's 14.5% alcohol with good acidity and fine tannins. The core is a nicely focused pure cherry juice and baking spice. It's also showing some secondary toffee elements at this stage. Good stuff and well worth the $20 I payed for it. Needs an hour of air for the funk to blow off. At first there was a fear of some cork taint but it was not the case.

  August 10, 2008 - This is a crianza, but the distributor says it is the current vintage. Go figure that out. Anyway, the flavors are reminiscent of door county sour cherries. It is very unctuous and juicy, with less acid. It's a sipper, and I'd decant it for about an hour before doing so.
