January 1, 2018 - I agree this was very fresh, but I do not think I would have picked this vineyard out in a blind tasting, which surprised me.

December 17, 2013 - This was really fresh. I agree with some other comments that it seems this has just hit it's stride with lots of life left.

February 12, 2012 - This was good. settled out nicely and though a bit too much vanilla/oak for my taste, well balanced in the finish.
I think this is just hitting the drinking window. Start now and finish in a couple years.
My tasting notes are similar to other tasters here. If you like what they found, this wine is for you, too.

January 9, 2011 - Drank before Christmas. Very tasty, liked it a lot. got some left, will hold it a couple years longer as it needs some time yet.

October 20, 2009 - A bit rough and chunky out of the bottle. A few hours of decanting might well have helped. Good fruit, but hidden by tannin and strong acidity at this point. Too young at this point to tell its true potential, but hold off a year or two before diving in, if you have some.

January 26, 2008 - This is always my favorite of the Soos Creek lineup, but we'll have to see about this vintage. The aromatics are dense and rich. Extracted black fruits, burnt toast, and chocolate. The palate never delivers the same intensity, however is still solid. Creme de cassis, black cherry, and cedar. The tannins are surprisingly mild and the acidity is a touch low for what I expected. Overall a very enjoyable bottle, however I enjoyed previous vintages quite a bit more. We'll have to try the rest of the '05's from Soos Creek.

January 24, 2008 - Tasted on day 2. This is really a cab sauv, or at least 90+% so. The wonderful fruit was there, but even on the 2nd day, this wine was very chewy, and showing lots of oak. It needs time. I'd love to try this in a couple of years and see how it's coming around. 88-90

November 28, 2007 - Decanted for 2 hours. 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc. This wine exhibited a dark garnet color in the glass. On the nose, aromas of dark cherry, blackberries, and plums were joined by hints of licorice and spice. On the palate, rich flavors of black cherries and blackberries were accentuated by notes of spice, chocolate, and hints of oak. A very young, muscular styled Cabernet that just got better and better throughout the night. The tannins were a bit overbearing upon first taste... but after the full two hours they really integrated and allowed the fruit to shine through. A solid buy that I'm looking forward to opening in a few years time. HS91+
